LEJ Designs 50th Challenge-Mystical, Magical or Mysterious

Today sees the start of the 50th challenge over at LEJ Designs challenge bog, the winner will receive their choice of 4 digis from LEJ Designs with the second randomly drawn winner receiving a selection of goodies from UK Card Crafts.

For my card I used a combination of the Crafters Companion CD Boys & Girls and Lindsays beautiful unicorn digi which can be found here. I started with an 8x8 card blank and matted some gold mirror card and a piece of backing paper that was in my scrap box onto it. I printed the shaped castle card from the CD and using just the front section I cut it out and mounted this to the left hand side of the card front. I coloured the unicor using a combination of promarkers, sakura glitter pens and a gold paint pen and the cut him out and mounted to the right hand side of the card.

A few gems to the top corners and a sentiment that I had floating about and I think I have a great card for anyone that likes the mystical, magical or mysterious. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll visit again for more crafty makes.

Friday 19 April 2013

I've made my first Christmas card for 2013 already! I don't usually start this early, but the challenge over at Mad Crafters Giggles was robins and so I was automatically drawn to the feeling of Christmas. I've been having a major clean up in the craft room and so things are still a bit all over the place (although I'm getting there with it all) and so I couldn't really be messing about looking for loads of components to use, then I remembered I had a sheet of Kanban toppers in the filing cabinet and decided I would use one of those for my card.

I cut a piece of gold mirror card to fit a 15cm square card and then I cut a piece of the Happy Christmas text paper and a piece of the gold holly paper on top of the mirror card. I placed a corner peel off in the corners and added a garland type peel off across the middle then mounted the topper using foam tape to add a little dimension to the card. I added a few ribbon flowers and a little Xmas Wishes foiled tag to finish the design. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will visit again for more crafty makes.

Wednesday 17 April 2013

I should have posted this last night, but I have been having a major and much needed tidy up of the craft room, so it's later than planned. I made this for the vintage challenge over at the Mad Crafters Giggles group on Facebook and I rather like it to be honest. The kit is another from craftsuprint and comes from one of the free CD's.

I printed onto super smooth card and cut out all the elements, but I decided I didn't think it was sturdy enough and so I backed it onto some thin card to strengthen it, then I assembled it following the easy instructions, glittered the butterflies and I think it has turned out very nice. Thanks for popping by and I hope you'll visit again for more crafty makes.

Monday 15 April 2013

My card for today comes from the new Krafty Hands CD Kew Floral Collection. I love floral themes and this CD is just so pretty. It's a quick simple card that I made for the challenge over at Mad Crafters Giggles and the theme was to use a doily on your project.

I started by printing my two topper sheets (main topper and outer topper) onto super smooth card, I also printed the two sheets of backing paper onto super smooth paper. I cut a piece of gold mirror card to fit a 6x6 card blank and then cut the gingham paper slightly smaller to mat onto this. I cut a one and a half inch strip of the contrasting floral paper, which I again matted onto gold mirror card and placed across the middle of the card. I edged the outer topper with a flexible gold border peel off and then mounted the main topper onto it using 2mm foam tape. I put this onto the middle of a small doily and mounted to the centre of the card. Some small gold corner peel off stickers and a sentiment were added to finish off what I think is a pretty card for any females Birthday. Thanks for looking and I hope you'll pop back for more crafty makes.
Today sees the start of 10th challenge over at Crafty-Emblies, again it's an anything goes theme so the world is your oyster so to speak. Anyway for my project this month I decided I wanted to use the fabulous toadstools which can be found at the Crafty-Emblies shop, and so what a better theme to use that the beautiful Garden Fairies by Debbi Moore.

I printed the sheet of decoupage on to 160gsm super smooth paper and cut it out, the backing paper is one that I found in my scraps folder and I mounted this onto gold mirror card and then I added some olive green glittery ribbon across the middle. I mounted this onto an 8x8 card blank. I assembled the decoupage using foam tape and added this to the card front. The toadstools I coloured using my promarkers and gold paint pen and I added them to the bottom of the card using glue gel. Thanks for looking and I hope you will join in with the challenge to win some fabulous goodies.

Today I want to show you a card I made from one of my favourite CD's. It's called Entwined and is from the A Touch Of Magic by Linda Ravenscroft. I love all of Linda's CD's and I adore this image.

My printer can be a little funny when printing borderless images, so I save the sheets as jpegs which an option you have with this CD and then printed it through Microsoft Paint. The design when printing out is designed so that the main image can be printed directly on to card for your card base, but I wanted to add a mirror card mat and so I used a plain white A5 card blank and just printed the sheets on to a 160gsm super smooth paper. I cut out all the images and layered up using 2mm foam tape. I used a glue pen to add the glitter highlights and I think the finished result is a beautiful card. Thanks for looking and I hope you'll pop by again for more crafty makes.

Thursday 11 April 2013

Today's card is another kit from craftsuprint and I made it for the by the sea challenge over at the Mad Crafters Giggles group on Facebook. I printed the sheets on to 250gsm super smooth card stock and cut out all the elements, then it was just a matter of assembling them following the very easy instructions and adding the decoupage elements.

I like these shelf cards and I like the fact that this kit has a stabilising piece to give it more stability and stop it sliding apart as I've found some designs do. I think this would make a great card for anyone that loves the sea, but particularly for the hard to make for guys. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll visit again for more crafty makes.

Tuesday 9 April 2013

Today sees the start of challenge 48 over at LEJ Designs Challenge Blog and the theme is show us your ribbons. The winner will receive their choice of 4 digi stamps from LEJ Designs and there is a jackpot of 6 digi's up for grabs too. Anyway on to my card, I chose to use Rose Image 1 for my project, which I coloured using my promarkers. I used an A5 white card blank onto which I mounted some gold mirror, then my backing paper whick is by K& Co.

I used a piece of plain deep red textured paper which was an off cut from my stash again matted on to gold mirror card and using 2 pieces of ribbon I placed them diagonally across the card strip to make a criss cross pattern. I add this across the card to break the design up a little and then cut the image out using my Sizzix oval dies and mounted the image on to gold mirror card scalloped oval die cut, the final touches were to add a little bow to the top of the mounted image and a die cut love sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will join in the fun over at LEJ Designs Challenge Blog, and I hope you 'll stop by for more crafty makes.

Friday 5 April 2013

I know it's been a while since I posted...sorry for slacking, I will try harder to post daily. Today's card was made for the daily challenge over at the Mad Crafters Giggles group and the theme was countryside wildlife.  Anyone that knows me knows I love owls, so it was an easy choice for the theme. I used a sheet from craftsuprint and I have to say I love the finished card.

I used a 6x6 card blank and after cutting out the main image I matted on to silver mirror paper and then on to the card blank. I cut out all the layers and assembled these using foam tape, for a quick but effective card. Thanks for looking and I hope you'll stop by for more crafty makes.
